Welcome Dell Technologies
An oldie but a goodie! This past summer, our NY studio collaborated with director Isaiah Seret, VMLY+R and Biscuit Filmworks on two spots for Dell Technologies’ “Welcome to Now” campaign, which initially launched at Dell Technologies World in Las Vegas.
Variety Oscars Predictions
Variety have unveiled their early predictions of next year’s Oscar VFX contenders, and plenty of Framestore features are in the mix. LDN VFX Supervisors, Andy Kind and Alexis Wajsbrot were both given a mention for their incredible work on The Little Mermaid and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. Other ‘top-tier possibilities’ featuring Framestore’s skill, craft and innovation include Rebel Moon, Barbie and Wonka.
Junior Rigger, Nathan Clark, LDN, was interview by British Arrows this week as part of their Arrows in Flight series for the winners of last years Young Arrows Award for for his work on Three Mobile’s ‘Jeff’s World’.
After eighteen months of hard work, Rebel Moon Part 1 has finally wrapped. The teams in MTL (led by Bob Winter) and VAN (led by Bryan Litson) with support from the FX and Comp teams in LDN and MUM included over 500 people and contributed 582 shots with 69 assets. Congratulations everyone on this out-of-this-world achievement – we can’t wait to see your work come December!
Bye Bye Borderlands
This week the team in MEL, led by VFX Supe Avi Goodman wrapped on Borderlands. This action-packed adaptation promises to scratch our sci-fi itch and suit fans of the video game classic down to the ground. The team’s work includes creatures, ships and environments and a certain wiseacre robot, which, as well as knocking our socks off, also drew some fantastic praise from the production-side team. Nice work, folks!
See Ya Season 2 of Loki
Congratulations to LDN and MUM on delivering Loki S2. Led by VFX Supervisor, Matthew Twyford, this hotly anticipated second series has some truly jaw-dropping effects that used every part of the pipeline – Art Department, VisDev, and Pre-production, as well as the final visual effects. Special mention to Visualisation Supervisor, Michelle Blok and the FPS team, whose postvis was extremely well-received by the client.
Loki S2 premieres on Disney+ next week, with new episodes arriving every Thursday.
Wonderful AEAF Wins 🏆
A huge well done to our teams in LDN, MTL, and MEL on their hard work being recognised at the Australian Effects & Animation Festival!
Slumberlandand 1899won Silvers in Feature Film Animation and TV Opening Titles while Top Gun: Maverick won Bronze for the ‘Feature Film VFX’ category. A special mention to Sky Sports – Enjoy the Ride and Three – Jeff’s World which received Special Merits for VFX and Animation in Commercials.

This week we heard about the future of location-based experiences and immersive attractions with Eugénie von Tusnzelmann in a webinar version of her Cannes Lions presentation. She explores what makes these experiences so compelling and how they might develop in future.
Now that Summer has passed, it also means that the Framestore Stairs Challenge has ended. An astonishing total of 226 958 stairs have been climbed collectively.
