Wonka sees Framestore collaborating once again with Director Paul King, and producer Alexandra Derbyshire. Our production side VFX Supervisor, Graham Page alongside FPS, Art Department and VFX crews in LDN, MTL and MUM have been giving life to delightful characters, sumptuous environments and added to the mix of magic and mayhem with eye-popping simulation work.

Fly High with Emirates
Directed by Oscar-winning director Robert Stromberg, Framestore has collaborated with Emirates, Heads Up Production, and RSA to deliver Emirates’ latest brand film. Our LDN team employed a range of techniques to create seamless transitions, a metaphor for the ease of travel from one destination to the other, to bring the campaign to life. Well done to the team led by Executive Producer, Anna MacDonald and to Matthieu Toullet who provided Grade for Company 3.
Marvel at The Marvels 💫
A new trailer for The Marvels was released this week showcasing the return of Captain Marvel. This latest look at The Marvels features work from our Design Team in LDN, we can’t wait to see it on the big screen.

It’s a Wrap
The Crown Season 6
Congratulations to LDN as they wrapped on the final season of The Crown this week. Having been involved in The Crown since season 3, it is momentous day to see the end of project like this, Deputy Head of 2D, Ollie Bersey sent round his thanks to the everyone who’s hard work continually impressed the clients.

BFI London Film Festival
CEO, Tim Webber joined a panel of experts at the BFI London Film Festival this week to explore the use of Generative AI in filmmaking. He was joined by Rianna Dearden of Charisma.ai and Sami Arpa of Largo.ai who demonstrated AI’s impact on writing, storyboarding and image making, and Hannah Wylie of Harbottle & Lewis to discuss the legal considerations in its application.
Deadline Contenders
Production side VFX supervisor Glen Pratt was up on stage representing the work of our Art Department, Vis dev, Previs, Postvis, Virtual production and numerous VFX artists across 1300 shots on Barbie at the Deadline Contenders event over the weekend.

This week we celebrated World Mental Health Day, dedicated to raising awareness and promoting mental health advocacy around the world. Unmind hosted an exclusive webinar tailored to championing wellbeing in the workplace, and Felipe from Unmind made an appearance in our LDN studio to provide resources and answer questions about Unmind’s platform.

Netflix’s NIMONA: Ask The Filmmakers
Next week, LDN hosts NIMONA directors Nick Bruno and Troy Quane, as well as creator of the original graphic novel, ND Stevenson. We’ll be recording the talk for FTV, but we also wanted to open up the Q&A portion to all of Framestore.

Introducing students to Framestore
MTL was happy to receive Dawson College and NAD-UQAC, as part of the school tours happening throughout October. The students were introduced to Framestore’s history and a taste of the working culture. We hope to see some of them return as employees someday!
