Wheel of (Almost) Time
The Great Hunt continues on Prime Video, as Moiraine and Lan return to protect The Dragon Reborn in the second season of Wheel of Time. Channeling some stunning VFX, led by Production VFX Supervisor Andy Scrase and Framestore VFX Supervisor Patti Llaguno, make sure you add this fantasy FX feast to your watch list.
Wheel of Time S2 is streaming from 1st September.
Heart of Stone Character Posters
Netflix has recently released four character art posters for the much anticipated spy action film, Heart of Stone. With an impressive cast that includes Gal Gadot, Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, and Matthias Schweighöfer, the film is set to release globally exclusively on Netflix on August 11th.




Unseen Signals with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)
Ahead of the summer’s biggest football tournament, England Lioness Fran Kirby stars in a new campaign for CALM.
Directed by Natalie Rae, Unseen Signals aims to challenge the stigma and stereotypes that prevent women from being supported in a mental health crisis. Featuring VFX by our LDN team headed up by VFX Leads Paul O’Brien and Darran Nicholson, the film was crafted using a combination of existing gameplay and green screen moments to encapsulate the feeling of a real broadcasted match.
Meow Mix ‘NSync Re-mix
Directed by Ulf Johansson, Wet Your Whiskers the latest remix by Meow Mix has dropped! Featuring VFX led by Creative Director and VFX Supervisor Kamen Markov from our LDN team, the ad brings back 90’s nostalgia by introducing viewers to the Tabby 5, a cat boy band fronted by JC Chasez of ‘NSync. To top things off The Drum named this their ad of the day.

Launchpad Rigging Presentation
Angela Magrath, Head of Creature Effects & Rigging VAN, put on an informative and interesting Rigging Presentation for the Launchpad Interns and Runners. The participants had a great time and learned a ton! We look forward to our next training event in VAN.

Turning Framestore Pink
Across our studio lobbies pink in celebration of the worldwide release of Barbie. The wave of magenta has hit LDN and NY already, expect to see more of this coming soon to a Framestore studio near you.

LDN on Boosting the UK Economy
This week, Framestore partnered with UK Screen, the UK VFX/animation industry body to host a delegation of government advisors. The aim was to bring our VFX process to life and its important and positive impact on the UK economy. The event included discussions with Mel Sullivan (CEO); William Sargent (Chair, Co-Founder); Lucy Killick (COO, Film & Episodic); and Amy Smith (Global Director, Recruitment & Outreach), who covered our sector’s opportunities and challenges. Two of our fantastic VFX Supes, Patricia Llaguno and Oliver Armstrong also walked them through what it takes to create the magic 🪄we do. High five 🖐️ to everyone involved. Thank you.
Framesquad’s Winning Streak and Flamestorm’s Exciting Matchup!
MTL’s Framesquad seems unstoppable! Last Wednesday, our basketball team were up against one of the best team in the league. Both team fought well but at the end, Framesquad managed to secure the win 34-29. That’s now three wins in a row!
This week Flamestorm played an incredibly quick and low scoring game against CNN. Both teams went 3 up, 3 down a few times before ending in a draw. In the spirit of softball, it was agreed to play it out and after an additional drawn inning, CNN finally squeaked ahead by 1 run. It was a fun game with the final score Flamestorm 6 – 7 CNN.


VAN Summer Party
The VAN studio threw a fantastic Summer Party at Bridges on Granville Island, overlooking the stunning Burrard Inlet! We had a blast with fantastic food, summer cocktails, amazing prizes, and an epic dancefloor. A massive shout-out to everyone who joined the fun – you were the life of the party! We could not have asked for a more vibrant and energetic crowd.




MUM Monsoon Picnic
With high spirits and an appetite for some much-needed downtime – our MUM support team recently set out on a monsoon picnic amidst the idyllic hills of Igatpuri. It was a day full of fun, games and unlimited banter, alongside some delicious barbecue and evening drinks.


Mountains of Stairs in MTL
It’s been a month since MTL begun their stair challenge, encouraging everyone take the stairs. Collectively, they have reached an astonishing total of 100,000 steps climbed! Here are the top 5 for most steps climbed and also for the fastest time.

LDN Fun at the Fair
The LDN Production team had their summer social this week and went to Fairgame over at Canary Warf to enjoy some classic fairground games!
