The Fellowship of VFX

The time has come to return to Middle-earth in Amazon’s, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The behemoth project lands on the streaming service today, and we’d like to say a huge congrats to our colleagues in MTL who worked on this landmark series under the Method Studios banner. Prepare for a pilgrimage to new and majestic realms with this teaser below.

Film Blanc

Last Wednesday 31st, White Noise opened the 79th Venice Film Festival and has already been given five stars by The Guardian who dubbed it a “blackly comic blast,” read on to find out why.

The Venice and New York Film Festival contender (featuring work from our MTL whizzkids) will receive a month-long exclusive theatrical run at selected venues from November 25th before it lands on Netflix on December 30th, but you need not wait until then to make some noise, because we have a teaser for you here!

More Dark Material

Last Friday gave us the very first sneak peek at the third and final season of His Dark Materials – shared by the official HDM account and picked up by the likes of NME, Metro and Radio Times!

Have no Fury

It seems we will have to wait a little longer for Shazam Fury of the Gods, thankfully Director David F. Sandberg has treated us to a little BTS to tie us over until its spring release.

Something wicked this way comes

The epic School For Good And Evil, featuring fabulous work from our, LDN, FPS, MTL and MUM teams, is set to flutter gracefully into our living rooms on October 19th.

National Hispanic Heritage Month

We are preparing to honour National Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated from September 15th-October 15th in the US. We would very much like to centre our EDI initiatives for National Hispanic Heritage Month around those who hold this identity. As such, we are seeking your input. If you are comfortable sharing with us, we would love for you to take part in this brief questionnaire to help guide our efforts for the month and direct our attention to issues and interests you feel are important to highlight.

MTL bonfire

Last Friday, MTL’s compositing department bonded by bonfire (no, not THAT Bonfire). The team had a wonderful evening filled with sangria, hors d’oeuvres and great conversation. It was inspiring to see the department so connected, the rapport among the team is undeniable.

Welcome back!

MTL welcomed the paint and roto team back into the office last week. With more than half of the team finally able to be onsite, it was cause for celebration (in the form of pizza). A fitting way to welcome the gang back together!

The Layout team have also begun their return to the office by way of blue arches. It really is lovely to see them together again.

Labour Day

Monday, September 5th is Labour Day in North America. We wish our teams in Canada and the US a good long weekend!

That’s a wrap for this week team, until next time!
