The cat’s out of the bag

Beast breaks out onto screens today, following its debut last night. Idris Elba led the star-studded cast to his home turf of Hackney for the premiere, joined on the red carpet by some of our very own: VFX Supervisor Enrik Pavdeja, COO, Film & Episodic, Lucy Killick and CG Supes Dan Neal and Stefan Putz.

It’s time to answer the call of the wild and find out why we’re roaring about this work from our LDN and MUM studios. Paws and watch this if you need a reminder.

For this Guardian piece, Idris Elba gives his top tips on avoiding being munched by a real-life lion, as well as lifting the curtain on some of the film’s VFX. More props for the VFX work of our LDN and MUM teams comes via video interview for Newzee below – skip to the three-minute mark to hear Idris say the film should be winning an award for the CG work!

7 days of Longing left

Slumberland

Jason Momoa takes us on a fantastical journey traversing dreams and fleeing nightmares in the secret world of Slumberland. Alas, there are still a few sleeps to go before this dream takes shape, but here is a teaser of what’s to come from our creative teams in MTL and MUM.

A new mystery is afoot.

This winter we set sail with Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar’s 1899. The eight episodes will follow the mysterious circumstances around the voyage of an immigrant ship, the Kerberos, from Europe to New York.

If that has left you curious for more clues on what to expect, here’s a first look into this work from our MTL and MUM studios and the volume technology used to create the world of 1899.

2022 London Advertising Softball League Playoffs

Last weekend Flamestorm took to the field in the LASL Playoffs. First playing a brilliant game against Google, where Flamestorm fended the number one team off until the bitter end when Google hit an explosive home run to win the game 12-9.

Then onto game two to determine 3rd or 4th place against MPC where Flamestorm easily took the win, making lots of double plays and hitting it out of the park with a final score of 9-3. This secured Flamestorm 3rd place in the playoffs!

Thanks to the whole team and the fans that came out this season to make it another great one. We’ll see you all next year on the field!

This coming week the LDN team will enjoy a summer bank holiday on Monday 29th. Then on Wednesday 31st, our MUM team will be taking time to enjoy the Hindu festival Ganesha Chaturthi, in honour of the God, Ganesha. Happy festivities to all!
