One little discovery, one giant adventure! Watch the new trailer for Lyle Lyle Crocodile featuring work by our talented MEL studio and starring Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem and Constance Wu. The film is scheduled to premiere on 5th October. See you in a while, crocodile!

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling were spotted on the set of their new film Barbie on Tuesday – we’re loving this world-beating power couple and can’t wait to see the final film!

Emmy tell you something cool
Congrats to the UK, US, India and Canada creatives whose work is on this year’s Emmy ballot – six titles in all! Moon Knight and Wheel Of Time are both in the running for the ‘Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Season Or A Movie’ category, while Cowboy Bebop, Dexter: New Blood, Outer Range and Snowfall are jostling for a spot in the ‘Outstanding Special Visual Effects In A Single Episode’ section. Fingers crossed, and if you’re one of the elite few to be able to cast a vote be sure to show your appreciation!

How does it feel when an actual astronaut gives a shout to the VFX studio you work at? Well, you tell us! Samantha Cristoforetti, a real-life astronaut, mentioned the work we did on Gravity in a recent tweet.
Senior Creative Technologist Johannes Saam took to the stage at the NFT.NYC conference in New York to speak about the intersection between NFTs, VFX and web3, connecting and enriching the experience of each.’ Framestore Creative Director Manon Dave also shared his insights during a separate discussion about how to use DAOs to empower communities.
An international delegation from Framestore including Quentin Sur (LDN), Daniel Mizuguchi (VAN), Brad Silby (LDN), Cynthia Crimmins (LDN), Joanna Puczynska (VAN), SKye Chappell (LDN) and Ian Landman (LDN) descended on France last week, to attend this year’s Annecy Festival. The group participated in a panel about Framestore’s creature and character work, and inspired young and upcoming talent.

Mel we meet again
The 18th June was a special day for our MEL animation team as they were able to come together in person to catch up, and meet newer team members who had joined whilst working from home. Some even flew in from Perth and Adelaide for a fun-filled day, including an intense FarCry VR experience at Zero Latency, and piles of dumplings at the iconic Hutong.
After two years, it’s great to say that the Lions are back! Some members of our talented IA teams from across the globe attended this years Cannes Lions to celebrate a week of creativity on the Riviera. You all look dashing and we hope that you enjoyed every minute of this unforgettable trip!
Framestore (Flamestorm) vs CNN (Thrashers)
Due to the unfortunate train strike, our softball opponents for this week, CNN, took the opportunity to hide at home and avoid a thrashing at the hands of the undefeated Flamestorm! With them not able to field a team, the game was declared a draw, however, the team weren’t going to let a small thing like the other team not turning up stop them, so they went out for some training in preparation for next week’s showdown against Quarto “76’ers”.
