The week someone roasts a Reynolds (12.11.21)

Spider-Man: No Way Home

The long-anticipated poster dropped this week for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Did You (Red) Notice?

Red Notice arrives on Netflix today, featuring amazing work from our MTL team, lead by VFX Supervisor Rich Hoover (LA). From helicopter sequences to massive bridge explosions, a CG Paris and jaw-dropping stunts, the film features some action-packed sequences. Framestore’s Festive Friend for McDonald’s

McDonald’s launched their Christmas ad today – our LDN team brought to life Iggy, the imaginary friend of a little girl named Matilda, and follows their Christmases as she grows up, set to an emotive cover of Cindy Lauper’s ‘Time After Time’ by pop star Mabel. The advert will make its television debut tonight after Gogglebox on Channel 4, but so far the reaction online is that this might be the best Christmas advert yet.

The Independent called the piece “tear-jerking”, while the Daily Mail noted the “heart-warming” scenes with “lovable” Iggy, whom advertising press The Drum hailed as “the standout character in the video”. Many outlets are comparing the advert to department store John Lewis’s Christmas adverts, which are famous for tugging on heartstrings each year.

Massive congratulations to VFX Supervisor Jules Janaud and the team.
