The week we did some Kippy uppies (11.09.20)

Kippy’s Escape

Our teams in LDN have been working hard on two recent projects with Microsoft. The first involved developing the UX Toolkit plugin; a suite of features that can be used in app development when using the UnrealEngine.

For the second project we were tasked with incorporating those features into a HoloLens demo game called Kippy’s Escape in which the player must clear a path so the titular robot can get to his spaceship by solving puzzles.

Read more on the project here.

So Swanky

Coinciding with the release of new Netflix series, Away starring Hilary Swank last week, we’ve added some swanky making-of’s to the case study on our website here.

Project Power Credits

Take a moment to congratulate the talented teams from both LDN & MTL who helped to deliver groundbreaking VFX on Netflix’s Project Power.

Continued Learning

Don’t miss the free LinkedIn expert online training on a range of topics including diversity and inclusion. Global Head of Talent, Amy Smith reviews the training available to you:

A lot of us have spent the past few weeks reading, learning and wondering what we can do next to continue our work as allies to the Black Lives Matter movement but equally to the diversity and inclusion agenda more widely.

In response to the death of George Floyd in May, LinkedIn put together a series of training resources from their learning site to help. I have worked my way through all of them and found each course to be helpful and thought provoking so wanted to share with everyone!

Some topics include:

  • Unconscious Bias
  • The notion of ‘Belonging’ and what that means at work
  • What it means to work with multiple nationalities and cultures at work
  • How to be a true ally or ‘upstander’ and not simply a bystander

For more information please click the link below. Each course is under an hour in duration and is broken up into smaller bitesize videos so they are really easy to squeeze into a few minutes each day.

Head to our Diversity Site for more content.

You’ve been [Framed]

Meet Philippe David, Lead Lighting TD (MTL). Give him anything with caffeine and he’ll be ready to conquer the day ahead, but try not to clang your spoon against your cereal bowl near him, he’s not a fan. Read more about Philippe here.

#InColour

We’ve got colour coming from both LA and LDN this week. First up, Beau Leon (LA) brought this spot to vibrant life for AT&T.

Simon Bourne (LDN) grades ‘The Longest Night’, a short film released by Porsche Motorsports to celebrate the 160-year anniversary of TAG Heuer.
