We are incredibly humbled to be nominated in the Special, Visual and Graphic Effects category for BBC & HBO’s adaptation of His Dark Materials. A huge congratulations to all involved who injected life into over 50 daemons and created magnificent environments.
Even the Producer of the show, Jane Tranter, name dropped Framestore for your standout contributions.
The spellbinding Artemis Fowl is out today on Disney+!
Our MTL office delivered some magical VFX for Disney’s adaptation of the much-loved work from Eoin Colfer. The work included conjuring the film’s hidden world of fairies and its diverse inhabitants – including a centaur and a cast of the 3Gs (gremlins, goblins and gnomes, in case you didn’t know). Additional sequences enlisted the team’s expertise to create a complex full-CG establishing shot which sees a gremlin flying, and effectively introducing, Colfer’s world of technology and magic.
Lions Live 2020
Cannes Lions will go ahead virtually this year from 22nd-26th June. In anticipation of the festival, we got Boris Johnston, aka Comedian Lewis Macleod, to let everyone know that we’ll be there to demystify the use of deepfake technology. You’re going to love it. Phwoar.
Creative 100 List
A big congrats to CD, David Estis (NY) for being listed as one of Adweek’s prestigious Creative 100!

You’ve Been [Framed]
We’ve got a double [Framed] treat for you this week.
First up, Paul O’Brien, a Director & Senior VFX Artist tells us why a sketchbook and pencil is still so important to him. Read more here.
Next we have Line Producer, Gabriel Jalbert (MTL) who makes killer banana bread and loves cringe-worthy dad jokes. Oh, and he was part of the team on Artemis Fowl, newly released on Disney +. Read his interview here.
This week, a group of managers from LDN, MTL and Mumbai joined members of the global HR team for our first co-collaborative Remote Training Session. Our focus was on discussing “How to take care of your remote teams,” and the challenges faced by managers to support their team members in lockdown.
We have some great ideas and examples from managers of how they have defined their “new normal” with their team including team quizzes, happy hours and regular check ins. In the coming weeks, we will launch more remote training sessions on this topic for managers across locations, please connect with your local HR team if you want to know more!
& that’s all for this week, enjoy your weekends 🙋🏻
