The week we head to Maccy D’s (22.11.19)

Clio Entertainment Awards

Three Framestore projects scooped awards at this year’s Clio Entertainment Awards: Free Solo 360, the Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall VR experience and the Framestore Pictures-directed New Year’s Eve spot for How To Train Your Dragon.

Well done to the genius Framestorians involved on these projects.

McDonald’s – Ellie & Archie

The #ReindeerReady story continues… Framestore teamed up with Leo Burnett and Passion Animation to deliver this new festive commercial for Maccy’s.

Televisual Facilities 50

Framestore came out THIRD overall in this year’s Facilities 50, featured in the latest issue of Televisual. Not only that, but take a look at the handsome, Framestore-crafted bear on the front cover.

We were first in the peer poll, where our competitors vote for who they admire. They described our work as ‘incredible‘ and ‘critically-acclaimed,’ and we were praised for our ‘international outlook‘ and ‘client services‘. They said we were a ‘trusted and established team,’ we ‘developed talent‘ and ‘sold the UK as a post/VFX destination.’

Our clients said about us that we’re ‘a great bunch of people pushing tech in interesting ways‘ – a sentiment not shared about anyone else. We were praised for our ‘sophisticated post production‘ as well as our ‘great work and talented operators‘ and for having ‘great vision.’

What we’ve been up to

You know how it is – an average week at Framestore, which includes presentations, learning new languages and careening around on dirt bikes.

Symposium: Stranger than Fiction

Senior Creative Technologist, Johannes Saam (LA) spoke at an event last weekend which brings together creatives to talk about storytelling through different mediums.

Ridin’ dirty

Animation Supe, Marco Marenghi (LA) organised the annual event

Beers and board games

The MTL office hosted another Framestore Connect Event this week, inviting employees and their significant others to Board Game Night.

They were also selling beverages (read: beer) as part of their Movember fundraising. The total so far stands at $250, with plans to host a bake sale next week to raise even more. So, if you’re in MTL, justify that much-craved sugar hit by telling yourself it’s for charity.

Mandarin Class

Our most recent graduates from the Mandarin course in the LDN office.

Figure Drawing

In this week’s session, our animation trainees in the LDN office sketched a live model (by the looks of the fella on the left, the session took quite a while).

Breaking the ice

Our animation trainees are also taking part in weekly improv classes, taught by Bruce MacKinnon. The classes help the animators grow in confidence and teach them how to make unexpected choices in their performances.

Well-being

The LDN office welcomed Alli Goodbold to the building, who gave advice to employees on how you can reduce your stress through a varied diet. HR regularly run these and many other similar talks so if you missed out this time do not fret, there’s more on their way.

#Framestorelife

If you’ve been involved in any work-related events in or outside of the office just mention #Framestorelife on Instagram and we’ll feature your pretty faces in the Round Up.

#InColour

The talented Beau Leon (LA) works his colour magic on the new single ‘Show Me Love’ by Alicia Keys, ft. Miguel.
