VFX Voice

The VES members’ magazine discusses Framestore’s work on those Dreamland sequences which we painstakingly built up, only to burn down the ground like utter maniacs 🤘

British Arrows Awards

We are proud to have picked up another British Arrows Award this week. The Framestore team that worked on McDonald’s #ReindeerReady film took home a silver CGI award for the incredible work they did on the campaign’s CG Reindeer – Grant, Suzanne & Ahmed were on stage to collect.

And a big well done to everyone that worked on Spike Jonze and Apple’s Welcome Home commercial, Waitrose’s Too Good to Wait, BMW’s The 8 – Venice and Nike’s Never Ask – Maltzsev – all projects that went home with awards.

What’s new, Pikachu?

Trade bible Variety also gets in on the sword-wielding action with this story – a far tastier item than a slice of Frey Pie.

Jessica Vile (LDN) grades the new Bed Head spot ‘Your Vibe, Our Tribe’

Simon Bourne (LDN) has also been working his magic on the latest spots for Miller Lite as they take on Bud Light and the Bud Light Knight. Try saying all that after a few cans!

And Beau Leon (LA) graded the dark and moody Lifetime music video for experimental musician Yves Tumor.

Nothing Remains

Massive congrats to Hong Yane Wang (Production, IA) as her short film ‘Nothing Remains’ has its Italian premiere at MACRO (the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome) this week. Written and directed by Wang, the film is a response to climate change & also features Xin Zhao (Animator, Film) as a calligrapher, and a special voice contribution by Danielle Nadal (Production, IA)

& that’s nearly a wrap, except to wish the New York team good luck as they move into their new downtown digs on Monday. The team are looking forward to switching neighbourhoods to the financial district, and we hear the new office has spectacular views across Manhattan.

Thanks for the memories, Spring Street!
