The week we’re in the light (14.9.18)

Hello, world

Hot news this week that HBO has joined the His Dark Materials party as co-producer and distributor, acquiring worldwide rights to the series outside of the UK. What does it mean? GLOBAL DOMINATION for our Televisual VFX, which are currently in the making on set in Cardiff. Huge congrats to all involved ✨

Sound the award alarm, Emmy incoming ➡️ Congratulations to all behind the shots of Black Mirror’s ‘USS Callister’, which scooped Outstanding TV Movie at the #EmmysArts last weekend, among others – fingers crossed for more success at the Primetime finale on Monday

On the topic of FRAMESTORIES…

Lines are now open to be a part of the upcoming Staff Presentation with your own filmic submissions. Framestories, to the uninitiated, are short (90″) films made by YOU which showcase the non-VFX passions and particulars of your creative lives. I promise, full details of this are in your inbox, but for Friday ease:

  1. Send a SUMMARY of your film idea (<150 words) to steph.bruning by 28 Sept
  2. The proposals will be then perused, and a shortlist drawn up to greenlight the chosen productions

GOOD LUCK, everybody, we can’t wait to see ’em

Making sweet, charitable music

I know you’re not the only one looking to the next payday, London – but here’s another treat to add to the pile. We’re pleased to announce a little something special this 28 September, as in-house band Pixel Fux put on a show and raise some funds right here on 5

The event will coincide neatly with end-of-month drinks, with an extended BAR and RAFFLE hosted by Mr Andy Hayes, packed full of prizes including Wembley football tickets and food and drink galore. All we ask is you show up, get involved and offer £3 as a charitable donation, all in aid of Invest in ME. Find FULL DETAILS HERE

More fun reads next week, promise you, mean it.
