Class of ’18
A HUGE congratulations to London VFX Apprentices Addison and Brandon, who graduated their programme with us last week. A note from HR:
Last Friday, two of our fantastic apprentices – Addison Petrie (Junior 2D Artist) and Brandon Bailey (Assistant TD) received their certificates for successfully completing their apprenticeships at Framestore. Both joined us in September 2016 and have spent the last 18 months learning on the job and attending college to build on their knowledge within their specialty areas.
As Addison and Brandon were part of the first ever group of apprentices in the industry, to mark the occasion, Mike and William, along with the apprentices’ mentors Shayne Farrier and Richard Ollosson, and Amy Smith, who worked with industry and the Department of Education to develop visual effects apprenticeships, popped up to the 5th floor to congratulate the apprentices and then joined our Launchpad Interns for their end of placement celebration.
Addison and Brandon are some of the very first creative apprentices to pass the new Trailblazer Apprenticeships assessments and have been guinea pigs for this new venture from the start. Please do congratulate them if you see them!
Further praise too for our interns in London:
Last Friday our fabulous Launchpad interns presented their final projects to a rapt audience of peers and managers from across the business.
It was great to see the support each department gave them as they presented their final work and obviously after the presentations it was time for their Graduation PARTY!
We asked the interns to vote for their “Favourite Presentation” and the winner was Elpida Kyiakou, our 3D intern, with her presentation on mushrooms. Well Done Elpida!
Three of our interns have secured contracts within their departments: congratulations to Leon Schmidl (Pre Vis – The Third Floor), Dawn Pearson (IA Production) and Chris Bojan (Environments). We hope you continue to enjoy your experience post-Launchpad.
If anyone is keen to get involved in the Launchpad Internship Programme in 2019 please contact HR for more information.
Et tu, Montréal: our warmest thanks, and bon voyage, to our Launchpad legends, snapped here at their end-of-term event
Doing it for the kids
